After a day and night trapped at home by rain and Zoom meetings, had to get out for National Soft Serve Ice Cream Day. Carvel invented soft-serve 90 years; this store has been Chinese-American owned since the 70s.
Chun Hong Kong Cafe, 6419 18 Av Brooklyn. All of the HK diner favorites in a spacious spot with movie and tourist signs and themed decor. Easy to get to from N train.

Saw An American Soldier earlier this week, an opera by David Henry Huang and Huang Ruo about the tragedy of Pvt. Danny Chen. It was powerful and visceral. I see that Chen’s mother’s suffering and search for justice parallels Vincent Chin’s mother.
Honored to be the alumni standard bearer this morning for the #NYUCAS2024 baccalaureate! Congratulations to these well-accomplished leaders!
